A. SITUATION IN ASSAM
Due to continuous heavy rainfall in Assam, the water in the rivers has crossed danger level at Brahmaputra at Nematighat (Jorhat), Tezpur (Sonitpur), Dhubri, Jia Bharali at N.T. Road Xing (Sonitpur), Puthimari at N.T. Road Xing (Kamrup), Manas at NH road Xing (Barpeta), Sankosh at Golokganj (Dhubri) and Kushiyara at karimganj (Karimganj). Flood situation has affected 19 districts. As per IMD weather warning, there will be heavy rainfall at isolated places on today (i.e. 22.08.15), 25.08.15 and 26.08.15
B. Impact
19 districts affected from floods are Dhemaji, Kokrajhar, Chirang, Lakhimpur, Tinsukia, Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, Sivasagarr, Nalbari, Sonitpur, Barpeta, Jorhat, Goalpara, Morigaon, Dhubri, kampur, Golaghat, Darrang and Nagaon. Out of which, most affected district are Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Bongaigaon and Barpeta.
8 people have been died in floods.
Total Population affected is 5,76,537.
Total crop area affected is 55,22,333.
Saralbhanga L/B embankment is breached by flood water of Khalasi river from country side.
10 animals from lakhimpur have been washed away.
