HUMANITARIAN NEEDS
An estimated 404,000 children under age-5 and 185,000 Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLWs) are at risk of acute malnutrition.
Based on revised estimations from the health management information system, up to 1,800 children 6 to 59 months may suffer from severe acute malnutrition (SAM) in the coming months and similarly based on estimation from the IMAM technical working group around 21,866 (boys and girls) under age-5 may suffer from moderate acute malnutrition (MAM). In addition, gap remains to treat more than 185,000 PLWs who are also at risk of malnutrition and micro-nutrient defi ciencies in the 14 worst-affected districts. These vulnerable groups will require sustained nutrition support.
