Highlights
The Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) and Measles Rubella (MR) campaign has been completed in most parts of the country. A total of 4,408,314 children under 5 were reached with OPV (87 per cent coverage) and 962,172 children between 6 months and 15 years were reached with MR (82 per cent coverage).
During the reporting period, 4,604 children were screened for malnutrition. Additionally, 968 severely malnourished children were admitted to feeding programmes.
In the last week, UNICEF has distributed 2,196 hygiene kits in Hadramout, Aden and Ibb Governorates for 15,372 people, and 697 water kits for 4,879 people in Ibb and Aden.
During the past week, UNICEF continued to provide support to local water corporations in Al-Bayda, Sana’a, Hodeidah, and Sa’ada Governorates. So far, 2,993,000 people were reached with access to safe water by providing fuel for cities in 10 governorates in the country.
During the reporting period, over 14,000 children in Sa’ada, Taiz, Ibb, Al-Amanah, Marib, Sana’a, Hodeidah and Amran Governorates were reached with psychosocial activities. An additional 6,272 children and 11,491 adults received Mine Risk Education sessions in Amran and Hodeidah Governorates.
