HURRICANE SEASON: Hurricane Joaquin passed over the southern Island of the Bahamas and resulted in several damage to critical infrastructure and housing in Acklins, Long, Crooked, and San Salvador islands and Rum Cay. CDEMA deployed a Rapid Needs Assessment Team with members from the UN to the affected region.
LANDSLIDE: Authorities declared a red alert in El Cambray II, municipality of Santa Catarina Pinula, department of Guatemala, following a deadly landslide that left 274 dead and 353 people missing.
DROUGHT: Authorities declared a drought emergency in the municipality of Omereque de Cochabamba, Bolivia, which affects 400 rural households (about 2,000 people).
