I. SITUATION OVERVIEW
Typhoon (TY) "LANDO" with International Name "KOPPU" has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the afternoon of 14 October 2015.
At about 1:00 AM, 18 October 2015, TY "LANDO" has made landfall over Casiguran, Aurora and has remained almost stationary. "LANDO" weakened to a Severe Tropical Storm (STS) as it exited the landmass of Ilocos Norte at 10:00 PM, 19 October 2015.
"LANDO" has maintained its strength as it moves in the Northeast direction.
At 4:00 AM, the center of STS "LANDO" was located at 130 km Northwest of Laoag City, !locos Norte with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is forecasted to move Northeast at 5 kph. Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) No. 2 is raised in (locos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Abra, Batanes, Northern Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands; PSWS No. 1 is hoisted in La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, lfugao, Mt. Province, Kalinga, Isabela,and the rest of Cagayan.
Stormy weather is expected over the Provinces of !locos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, Batanes, Northern Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Islands. Rains with gusty winds will prevail over Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela, and the rest of !locos, of Cordillera, and of Cagayan. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of Central Luzon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to West will prevail over the rest of Luzon and coming from the Southwest over Visayas and Mindanao with moderate to rough seas.
