I. SITUATION OVERVIEW
Typhoon (TY) "LANDO" with International Name "KOPPU" has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the afternoon of 14 October 2015.
At about 1:00 AM, 18 October 2015, TY "LANDO" has made landfall over Casiguran, Aurora and has remained almost stationary. "LANDO" weakened to a Severe Tropical Storm (STS) as it exited the landmass of Ilocos Norte at 10:00 PM, 19 October 2015.
"LANDO" has weakened into a Tropical Depression while traversing Balintang Channel.
At 4:00 AM, the center of TD "LANDO" was located at 60 km North of Calayan, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecasted to move Northeast at 6 kph. Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) No. 1 is hoisted in Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Batanes, Cagayan, Calayan, and Babuyan group of islands.
Rains with gusty winds will prevail over Ilocos Norte, Batanes, Apayao and Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the rest of the Regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northwest to southwest will prevail over Visayas and the rest of Luzon and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
