Biophysical Indicators
The county received enhanced rainfall especially in the highlands with a distribution in time of up to 26 days and also a superior spatial distribution covering all livelihood zones. For instance, the rainfall recorded at Nasukuta station surpassed the normal range for the month by 79%.
Vegetation did not show any considerable improvement as evidenced by the VCI-3month of 26.09 with Pokot north most affected and yet to recover.
Most surface water sources had not recharged and thus remained dry with the seasonal rivers showing signs of resuming normal flow.
Socio-Economic Indicators (Impact Indicators)
All the access indicators except the terms of trade remained outside the normal range.
Browse/Pasture condition was still poor especially in the pastoral zone. The body condition of cattle was fair to poor across all livelihood zones with the trekking distance to water sources still high.
Malnutrition levels went down slightly but MUAC still remained above the normal range for the period. The CSI went down and fell within the normal range.
