In the past two weeks, no Ebola case was reported in Guinea.
Thus, the total number of confirmed cases remains at 3,351 out of which 749 children.Guinea will be declared Ebola Free if no case is reported on 29 December 2015. As of 25 November 2015, the countdown is at day 9 over 42.
The closing ceremony of the micro-containment in Tana district of Kaliyah, Forécariah, was held on 13 November 2015 and was led by the Prime Minister who called for the continuation ofsocial mobilization and surveillance activities.
Following UNICEF advocacy efforts, the First Lady of Guinea agreed to become a national nutrition ambassador to support the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) efforts.
In coordination with the Ministry of Education (MoE), UNICEF deployed 11 tents in Télimélé prefecture to ensure that children have access to education as classes resumed since 9 November 2015, after a devastating storm hit the area. Six tents are temporary learning spaces while the school reconstruction is ongoing, three tents are supplementary spaces and two tents for a school waiting repairs as recently hit by a tornado/storm
