According to Government of Uganda’s Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) reports, a total of 16,266 refugees have arrived in Uganda since November 2014 and 49 per cent of them are children under the age of 18 years. For the period 12th to 19th November, 2015 saw the entry of a total of 278 new refugees higher than the previous week’s 179 new arrivals
Children in Nakivale settlement are benefitting from six new play grounds at Nakivale, Nyarugugu, Kashojwa, Kabazana, Ngarama B and Kakingi community Primary schools. UNICEF and partner East African Play Ground completed and handed them over to the local authorities and communities

Severely malnourished children now receive support from 240 Village Health Teams (VHTs) trained in community nutrition services as well as 15 staff from Isingiro District trained in Inpatient Therapeutic Care (ITC).
