I. OVERVIEW

  1. 12 December 2015

a. In the morning of 12 December 2015, Tropical Storm (TS) "NONA" with International Name "MELOR" has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

b. It has a maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

  1. 13 December 2015

a. At 4:00 AM, "NONA" intensified lows into a Severe Tropical Storm (STS) and further intensified to a Typhoon (TY) in the afternoon.

b. Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) No. 1 was raised in Samar Provinces

  1. 14 December 2015

a. It made three (3) landfalls on 14 December 2015: 1st landfall at 11:00 AM in Batag Island, Laoang, Northern Samar; 2nd landfall at 4:00 PM in Bulusan, Sorsogon; and 3rd landfall at 9:45 PM in Burias Island, Masbate

  1. 15 December 2015

a. It made its 4th landfall at 5:30 AM in Banton Island, Romblon, At 10:30 AM, it made its 5th and last landfall in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro

b. In the afternoon of the same date, Typhoon "NONA" has slowed down as it crossed Northern Mindoro.

a. Typhoon "NONA" has slightly weakened and as it moved to the West Philippine Sea with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph

b. In the afternoon, "NONA" has weakened into Severe Tropical Storm as it continued its slow movement over the West Philippine Sea.

c. "NONA" has weakened into Tropical Storm and moved towards Northern Luzon.
