ZIKA: World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a public health emergency due to Zika virus. The Zika has already been reported in at least 24 countries and territories in the region.
United Nations Agencies, the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) and NGOs are already working in actions related to vector control, resource mobilization and dissemination of key messages.RAINFALL AND FLOODING: Red alert warning has been issued in Bolivia for the department of Tarija and yellow alert for La Paz, Beni, Santa Cruz and Cochabamba. In Ecuador, the Emergency Operations Committee of Esmeraldas has been activated.
