Overview
El Nino phenomenon brought about in our country, since September 2015, a heavy climate disturbance. El Nino phenomenon caused heavy rainfall and violent wind that caused casualties and deaths.
One of the consequences recorded is the increase of malaria cases in provinces affected by the phenomenon.
Following this situation, Burundi Red Cross volunteers in collaboration with the provincial health authorities carried out preventive actions and response against malaria. Those actions are notably community sensitization sessions through Mobile Cinema, spraying campaigns and public awareness campaigns on the use of Long Lasting Insecticide-treated Nets (LLINS)
