Overview of IDPs in KP/FATA
As of 31 March 2016, 178,461 families remain displaced with 177,462 families (99%) staying in host communities and 999 families (1%) living in IDP camps.
Protection monitoring activities were limited during the reporting period due to access and NOC issues. However, whenever NOCs were received, monitoring and legal assistance activities were carried out and provided both in- and off-camp while grievance desks facilitated the self-reporting of grievances, particularly related to access to the registration and food assistance. Cluster members involved in various other protection activities include CERD, EHSAR, IRC, HRDS, TKF, UMEED, HelpAge, and IOM/Hcomms. The Child Protection sub-cluster partners (PVDP, Hayat Foundation and Muslim Aid) have provided child protection services to 21,509 children (8,762 girls) and 6,327 women through Protection Learning and Community Emergency Services (PLaCES), Child Protection Centres and outreach services in host communities in Bannu/FR Bannu, KP, and areas of return in Kurram Agency and South Waziristan Agency, FATA.
