STATISTICS AND HIGHLIGHTS

• The number of refugees and migrants in Belgrade and the border with Hungary continued to increase to over 700, while less than 230 remained in governmental accommodation.

• 400 were sighted Belgrade and over 360 assisted at the Serbia-Hungary border. 68 asylum seekers departed by accessing “transit zones”. UNHCR and partners distributed food and non-food aid. Lack of access to sanitary facilities in both location continued to be of concern.

• Six persons expressed intent to seek asylum, bringing the total in April 2016 to 396 and for the whole of 2016 to 2,337 (statistics courtesy of the Ministry of Interior).
