STATISTICS AND HIGHLIGHTS
The number of refugees and migrants in Belgrade and the border with Hungary continued to increase to over 700, while less than 230 remained in governmental accommodation.
400 were sighted Belgrade and over 360 assisted at the Serbia-Hungary border. 68 asylum seekers departed by accessing “transit zones”. UNHCR and partners distributed food and non-food aid. Lack of access to sanitary facilities in both location continued to be of concern.
Six persons expressed intent to seek asylum, bringing the total in April 2016 to 396 and for the whole of 2016 to 2,337 (statistics courtesy of the Ministry of Interior).
