  • Local transmission has been reported in ten (10) highly populated provinces including Luanda, Lunda Norte,
Cunene and Malange, the last three provinces are located in border areas.

  • The epidemic has rapidly moved towards the East and South of Angola, determining a possible expansion to surrounding countries. High number of migrants (diamond workers) in the East (Provinces Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul and Moxico) together with local logistical and communication conditions, are an important factor for acceleration of the spread to DRCVaccination campaign continues in local transmission districts, according with last MoH report. Of the 19,221,942 targeted, approximately 10,414,749 people have been vaccinated.

  • Lack of availability of vaccines in country, affected the implementation of vaccine component of the response plan and delayed the successful disruption of transmission and allowed intensification of the epidemic nationally and internationally.
