Second Community-Based Participatory Planning (CBPP) exercise was carried out in the village of Tialel, Sahel region, from 15 to 20 May (a first exercise was done in Banogo, East region, early April).
Joint Food Security Assessment (FSA) and socio-economic survey conducted by WFP and HCR for Malian refugees in Burkina Faso. The two reports are available.
Funding gaps are really worrying and jeopardize implementation of all the activities. Six months net funding requirements are USD 13.7 million.
Operational Updates
The action plan for supporting small-scale agricultural assets and building resilience through food assistance for assets in the Sahel will be soon available. The action plan for the East region is already available and field level agreement (with NGOs) and Memorandum of understanding (with public technical services) are under preparation.
On the basis of joint FSA and socio-economic survey carried out by WFP and HCR, WFP made some recommendations regarding food assistance to Malian refugees for the second semester 2016.
Food assistance will be delivered to food insecure and “borderline food secure” households, residing in the two official camps.
