CCCM

IOM is UNMISS site manager and State Focal Point for CCCM. Camp coordination Officers and DTM staff have been deployed for registration activities and a population head count. CCCM/IOM are discussing site development with UNMISS to accommodate the population.

Health

Health needs are immense, and trained health professionals urgently needed. Two IOM clinics are responding with lifesaving care at the SSRC and Cathedral. EPI campaigns are ongoing. Technical support is being provided and referrals made to the UNMISS Level 2 Chinese facility,
Comboni Hospital and the Wau Teaching Hospital. Tents for operational space and vaccines have been received. A joint mobile health team has deployed to Mboro. Key morbidities are malaria and RTIs.

PSS

Acute psychosocial distress, mental health needs and potential human rights abuses have been reported. IOM PSS mapped services in the collective centres and found limited capacity for specialised and non-specialised PSS services. Seven counsellors were identified. Services will be initiated at IOM sites. Referrals are being made and partners have set-up a child protection desk.

WASH

IDPs are accessing safe drinking water at the UNMISS base after IOM and partners connected 54 taps to the five, 10 cubic meter capacity water bladders (233 persons per tap). Water treatment with Chlorine and FRC testing are ongoing and IOM has installed a water connection to the clinic.
Partners are constructing latrines, bathing shelters and handwashing stands. A site for solid waste is being identified, and IOM is planning on deploying a mobile WASH team.

S-NFI

Cluster lead IOM is co-ordinating assessments and distributions, with help from the Logistics Cluster. The strong pipeline and pre-positioning has assisted the rapid response. Two IOM/NRC and ACTED mobile response teams are responding. NFI assessments have been held in Mboro and Ngisa, and teams are planning distributions. After discussion with leaders at the Cathedral, 2,800 plastic sheets and mosquito nets will be distributed, on a community basis. NFI kits for 13,000HHs and acute shelter materials for 5,000HHs are on the ground with shelter supplies en route.
