CCCM: At the UNMISS site, IOM supported WFP to do a registration for food distribution.
Coordination meetings with the community leadership continue. The site layout for the extension area near to the UNMISS site are being finalised this week. Assessments have pinpointed decongested areas for first relocation activities, and support teams trained. All internal and perimeter roads are now complete, water systems installed and functional and the food distribution area finished. Platforms for Rub Halls for storage in the UNMISS compound are being constructed.
DTM: There is now a database of 140 enumerators across various sites. Analysis of movements and trends has been ongoing: Movement Trend Tracking (MTT) exercises were held at the UNMISS and Cathedral sites and an intention survey tool has been developed and data collected from 280 households at the UNMISS site.
Health: Movement to Ngisa clinic is still restricted due to insecurity. This week, health promoters were trained and reached 1,028 people with information on the expanded immunisation program, malaria and antenatal care. On 17 July, the national Ministry of Health released a cholera alert after 19 suspected cases in Juba, and 27 in Duk county. A continued medical education (CME) on cholera for clinicians will be facilitated this week.
Psychosocial Support (PSS): Ten patients were seen at the UNMISS site, SSRC and the Cathedral. Referrals were made to the S-NFI Cluster to provide support with basic amenities.
The PSS team has been working with the community and with support from community leadership. After two girls who had experienced family separation were counselled, one of the girls was reunited with her family. Three clients reported distress after looting of property.
WASH: This week, 2,950,000 litres of water were provided at the extension site by the UNMISS base. Two sets of 20m3 bladder tanks were installed with water storage capacity now at 180m3. Four new water quality monitors were trained on performing FRC checks at the tap stand and household levels. Daily water treatment with chlorine is ongoing.
S-NFI: As Cluster lead IOM is co-ordinating and conducting assessments and distributions.
NFIs (blanket, mosquito nets and sleeping mats) were distributed to 2,482 households at the Cathedral. UNHCR will identify vulnerable people who missed this distribution and provide follow-up assistance. A rapid assessment was conducted in Loko Loko and 166 households received NFIs. 200 kitchen sets were also distributed in Saint Joseph School and Church.
After NRC staff were relocated after the events in Juba, IOM is now constructing the communal shelters in coordination with ACTED and the Church authority.
