Situation Overview
Since 08 August 2016, Southwest Monsoon is affecting Luzon and Western Visayas.
On 09 August 2016, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) located at Aparri, Cagayan enhanced the Southwest Monsoon which brought moderate to heavy rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Calabarzon, and the Provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Mindoro, and Northern Palawan.
The LPA at Itbayat, Batanes exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on 11 August 2016 but continued to enhance the Southwest Monsoon.
On 12-14 August, the Southwest Monsoon continued to bring light to heavy rains with isolated thunderstorms over Luon and Western Visayas.
At 4:00 AM, 16 August 2016, a Low Pressure Area was located at 800 KM East of Baler, Aurora. Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon will continue to affect Luzon and monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides are expected over Ilocos Region and in the Provinces of Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan.
Yellow Rainfall Warning is raised over Zambales, Bataan, and Pampanga at 5:00 AM, 16 August 2016, and light to moderate with occasional heavy rains is expected over Metro Manila, Bulacan, Batangas, Cavite, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Rizal, and Quezon.
