Biophysical Indicators
Rainfall report: No rainfall was received in Marsabit station while 1.3 mm of rainfall was received in Moyale Township which is normal for the month. This was mainly light showers and traced rainfall.
Vegetation condition; Pasture and browse condition is good in agro pastoral livelihood and fair in pastoral livelihood.
Socio Economic Indicators (Impact Indicators)
Production indicators; crop condition (Maize) is fair and almost maturing.
Projected harvest is 75% of Long Term Average (LTA). Livestock body condition is good in all the species across the County with some livestock mainly cattle in pastoral livelihood having fair body condition.Livestock Migration is on the rise but within normal routes except in Laisamis where livestock has migrated to Durusi, Barchuma, Dedertu and and Sabarwawa. Milk production has significantly reduced in both Pastoral and Agro Pastoral Livelihood. No livestock deaths as a result of drought.
Access indicators; Terms of trade has slightly improved due to decrease in maize prices. Return distance to water sources has increased when compared to last month. Milk consumption has deteriorated due to decreased production compared to last month.
Utilization Indicators; nutritional status has slightly deteriorated with 18.5% of children less than 5 years at risk of malnutrition. Coping strategies index has increased compared to last month.
