Operational Updates
In July, WFP distributed 125,000 full rations, consisting of 8 kg of wheat flour, 2 kg of barley, 2 kg of rice, 0.4 kg of lentils, 1 kg of CSB+, 1 kg of sugar and 0.92 kg of vegetable oil.
The monthly energy intake reached was 2,100 kilocalorie per person per day, falling slightly below the planned 2,166 kcal per person per day due to a reduced ration of lentils.
WFP is seeking to procure locally fortified wheat flour and vegetable oil starting in September. This follows a fortification assessment of current and potential local suppliers in 2015, which revealed fortification capacity amongst a limited number of the suppliers.
