Highlights
Syria: In June, over 129,000 individuals were reached through provision of Non-Food items and Shelter assistance from Damascus, Jordan and Turkey.
Jordan: IOM held a series of events for children in Azraq and Za’atari refugee camps as part of activities to mark the World Refugee Day, in coordination with the Jordanian authorities, UNHCR and CARE International.
Iraq: Between 23 and 30 June, 6,480 supplementary kits were distributed in Erbil in Baserma, Qushtapa, Kawergosik and Darashakran in coordination with UNHCR. These kits included pillows, rechargeable lights, and 40 litre cool boxes.
Turkey: On 5 June, IOM co-facilitated a workshop on MHPSS for 19 NGOs working in the South East of Turkey. The workshop was organized by UNHCR in line with the establishment of the MHPSS Sub Working Group. Furthermore, during the reporting period, IOM began supporting school transportation for students to attend summer school in Sanliurfa province.
Lebanon: On 22 June, 29 psychosocial professionals from Syria and Lebanon graduated from an Executive Professional Masters course run by IOM and the Lebanese University (LU) on “Psychosocial Support and Dialogue.” The graduation followed a final session in which the students presented their final fieldwork and research to a panel of trainers from IOM and LU.
