HIGHLIGHTS
On May 11th 2015, Sharjah's Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al-Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and UNHCR Eminent Advocate visited Egypt. During a one day trip, Her Highness visited Al Shamla public school in 6th of October City that accommodates at least 320 Syrian students alongside 1,000 Egyptian students. The Big Heart Foundation, donated USD 985,690 to benefit seven public schools in Greater Cairo, Alexandria and Damietta. Sheikha Jawaher also met Syrian refugee women at the Tadamon Egyptian Refugee Council community centre in the 6 October City, where they expressed views of their challenge.
UNICEF distributed additional education grant for some 105 Syrian refugee cases under the assistance for special needs cases.
WFP reached a total of 79,935 beneficiaries during May distribution.
