UNICEF continued to support the Second Emergency Health Campaign in Forécariah. Health centres in the prefecture reported an increase in patient numbers, suggesting that people are once again prepared to trust Guinea’s public health system.
The next Emergency Health Campaign will start in Dubréka on 5 June 2015 and will focus on the sub prefecture of Tanéné where many of the new cases of Ebola have originated in the past three weeks.
The start date for Guinea’s Maternal and Child Health Week has been postponed by nine days and will now run from 11 to 16 June 2015. Children will be vaccinated against measles, tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, influenza, hepatitis B and yellow fever.
