HIGHLIGHTS
More police for Lasu: UNHCR, with the assistance of the Commission for Refugee Affairs (CRA), has managed to secure an extra 15 police for Lasu refugee settlement in Central Equatoria State, bringing the total to 27 (no women). They were due to arrive on 28 July.
Solarized boreholes: 14 boreholes in the 4 refugee camps in Upper Nile State, i.e. 38 per cent of all motorized boreholes in the camps, are now solarized.
Fewer refugees in Western Equatoria State: Following a verification exercise ending on 22 July, the refugee population has reduced slightly to 8,921.
Classroom block handed over: A primary school classroom block built by UNHCR partner the Norwegian Refugee Council has been handed over to the community in the Makuac returnee site (for IDPs who fled to Khartoum before independence), Twic County, Warrap State.
