As of 30 July 2015, no cases of cholera or outbreaks of diarrheal diseases are reported in Sudan.
An alert of 10 suspected cases of AWD reported on 29 July 2015 from Al-Shaheed Afendi IDPs camp in Bau locality in Blue Nile State, (12 km south Ed Damazine town), was verified as negative by both the FMOH and WHO. The news aired by Radio Tamazij (Radio Dabanga) on the occurrence of 10 AWD cases was a rumor defuses by the FMOH/WHO verification tests.
As of 29 July 2015, a total of 1,429 cholera cases including 42 deaths (CFR 2.94%) have been reported in Juba and Bor Counties in Central Equatoria and Jonglei States of South Sudan (Source: Situation Report #38 on Cholera in South Sudan as of 29 July 2015, MoH/WHO South Sudan).
