HIGHLIGHTS
In the reporting period:
225 Syrian asylum seekers entered the KR-I in July through the Peshkabour border which is open six days a week. UNHCR continues to ensure close monitoring and advocacy for persons of concern through regular presence at KR-I entry points.
2,308 individuals returned from the KR-I to Syria. A notable increase in returns to Kobane has been reported, attributed to the rising cost of living in the KR-I, the hopes of securing better economic opportunities in Kobane, as well as for reasons of family reunification, property matters and agricultural pursuit.
Refugees in Al Obaidy camp in Anbar Governorate continue to lack access to legal assistance and documentation, given the inaccessibility to government services.
