Situation Overview
Heavy rainfall was witnessed in Narok, Nakuru, Bomet, Busia, Nandi, Nyeri, Kisumu, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kisii, Kericho, Nyeri, Meru and Turkana counties. Samburu and Nairobi Counties received average amounts of rainfall. Light showers were received in most parts of the Coastal region.

Nandi County
Heavy rainfall was witnessed in most parts of the County. A rock fall was reported in Setek village whereas a mudslide was reported in Chemase area, in South Nandi. However in both incidents no injuries were reported. KRCS is currently carrying out awareness campaigns to mobilize residents living in mud/landslides prone areas to move to safer areas due to potential landslide activity that may result from the continuing rainfall.
Narok County
The County received heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours. A landslide was reported in Sierra Leone sub location, Narok South resulting in the damage of 2 households. No one was injured. KRCS in collaboration with County Commissioner are carrying out awareness and sensitization campaigns in the affected areas, warning communities of a likelihood of more landslides due to the ongoing rainfall.
Kisii County
Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and hailstorms pounded several areas in Kisii County mainly in Kitutu North, Kitutu South and West Mugirango and left 1500 acres crops in farms destroyed. No casualties were reported. KRCS Kisii is planning to set up a temporary emergency center at the County Government Office to assist during the El - Nino season.
Kirinyaga County
Following heavy downpour in the County, Mwea is amongst the areas that received significant amounts of rainfall. This resulted in flash floods that affected 308 families in Kiariuia village as determined by a KRCS assessment.
