Situation Report
The rain respite was momentary in flood-hit Chennai. After a lull of 12 hours, Chennai has been hit by rains again. Fresh spell of rain has disrupted normal life in Puducherry and Kanchipuram. Fresh rains pose threat to rescue and relief operation in flood-hit Chennai while the Metrological Department has warned that the state will witness less rain for nest 2-3 days.
The airports basements are still inundated with water. Flight services presumably resume after two days after water evacuation from airport and restoration power supply. Train services will remain suspended till today.

Ponneri area of District Thiruvallur is cut off where 84 camps have been installed having 200-300 capacity in each camp.
Poor sanitation in the relief camps and areas having more chances of water-borne diseases.
Many parts of the city, which is slowly limping back to the normalcy after experiencing record rain, are still waterlogged. Parts like Velachery, Muni Pakkam, Thuraipakkam,
Tambaram, and Sholinganallur are still inundated.
