A. SITUATION REPORT
In the past few days, Manipur received heavy rain the beginning of 17th May 2016, which led to flash flood, breaching of embankments that causes huge damage to life and property affecting thousands of people homeless in the valley districts of Manipur which are District Thoubal, Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur. Most of the affected population is taking shelters in nearby relative and neighboring village houses.

C. RESPONSE BY GOVERNMENT AND HUMANITARIAN AGENCIES Government Response:
• In Thoubal district, local of Khangabok constituency distributed 10 kgs of rice and 2kgs of dal to every affected household of Sangaiyumpham part-1 puleipokpi and PHED department is providing drinking water to the affected communities.
• In Bishnupur district, one health camp was conducted at Phoijing Makha by the Chief Medical Office, Nambol. Local MLAs of Nambol Constituency distributed 5 kg of Rice, half kg of Dal and 250 gram of mustered oil to Naorem ward number 6 and 7. SDO, Nambol distributed 33 kg of rice to the affected community.
• IRDSO conducted assessment on floods affected district of Thoubal and PRDA, IRMA, ADRA conducted assessment at floods affected disticts of Imphal Esat, West and Bishnupur.
• IAG-Manipur and Sphere India is closely monitoring the situation.
