Highlights

• Completeness for weekly reporting was 34% for the nonconflict-affected states and 73% for the IDP sites.

• Malaria is the top cause of morbidity in IDPs and nonconflict-affec ted areas.

• Malaria cases in Bentiu PoC exceeded expected levels in the week.

• 18 suspect cholera cases including 3 deaths reported in Duk Islands.

• There were no new suspect hemorrhagic fever case reported from Aweil.

• During the week, malaria was the leading cause of mortality in IDPs.

Special focus on measles

• Four new suspect measles cases were reported from Yirol West (1), Ibba (1), and Wau (2 –Red Cross and Cathedral IDPs). (Table 4.1).

• While no new confirmed measles outbreaks have been reported; over 90 suspect measles samples have not been tested in the national measles laboratory.

• Measles campaign completed in Wau town and vaccination has started outside Wau town. Outbreak response including surveillance, case management, and enhanced routine vaccination are ongoing in all the other affected counties.
