Highlights
WFP has updated its 2016-17 El Niño Response Plan to align with increased needs according to the June 2016 ZimVAC assessment, where an estimated 4.1 million people will be food insecure by January 2017.
The Government of Japan has contributed USD 2.9 million to WFP’s Response, bringing down the funding gap through March 2017 to USD 151 million.
Through its June distribution cycle, WFP provided Lean Season Assistance to 260,946 people.
Effective June 2016, WFP Zimbabwe has issued its first monthly mVAM bulletin. mVAM is WFP’s system of remote phone-based data collection and food security monitoring.
