Highlights

• Completeness for weekly reporting was 28% for the nonconflict-affected states and 33% for the IDP sites.

• Malaria is the top cause of morbidity in IDPs and nonconflict-affected areas.

• Malaria cases in Bentiu PoC exceeded expected levels in the week.

• 18 suspect cholera cases including 3 deaths reported in Duk Islands.

• Two suspect cholera cases were reported from Gondokoro Islands.

• During the week, GSW were the leading cause of death in IDPs.

Special focus on measles

• Four suspect measles cases were reported from Gogrial West. (Table 4.1).

• While no new confirmed measles outbreaks have been reported; over 90 suspect measles samples have not been tested in the national measles laboratory.

• Since the beginning of 2016, a total of 1,547 measles cases including at least 17 deaths (CFR 1.1%) have been reported countrywide. Measles outbreaks have been confirmed in 12 counties.

• A countrywide measles follow up campaign is planned for November 2016.
