Biophysical Indicators
- Hot, dry and dusty weather conditions persisted in most parts of the county similar to the month of June.
- The Vegetation Condition Index (VCI) was 50 indicative of normal vegetation greenness.
Socio Economic Indicators (Impact Indicators)
Production Indicators
- Most crops have been harvested however crop production was below normal as attributed to slightly below long rain season performance.
- The body condition of most livestock species was good to fair across all livelihoods attributed to fair pasture quantity and quality, leftovers from on farm-failed crops and relatively normal watering distances.
Access Indicators
- Milk production and consumption per livelihood zone was 24 litres and 18 litres respectively in the period under review compared to an average production of 32 litres and an average consumption of 24.
- ToT was favourable for the livestock keepers.
Utilization Indicators
- Percentage of children at risk of malnourishment whose MUAC was below 135mm was 7.2 for the period under review which was below the long-term average of 7.6 percent.
